Lambretta Favourites

Our Lambretta Favourites

Some brands need a lengthy introduction. Lambretta isn’t really one of them.

The name alone conjures up scooters, parkas, seaside runs and more than a little Mod attitude. Lambretta Clothing takes its inspiration from the famous Italian scooter and the British Mod culture that embraced it, turning that heritage into clothes that still feel perfectly at home in a modern wardrobe.

And, as you might imagine, Lambretta and Quadrophenia Alley get along rather well.

Our Lambretta collection is packed with polos, jackets and casual pieces that give a nod to the past without making you look like you’ve accidentally wandered out of a 1960s fancy-dress party.

So, with plenty to choose from, we’ve picked out a few of our current favourites...

Lambretta MA-1 Bomber Jacket – Black

First up: the bomber. Because sometimes you just need a proper jacket.

The Lambretta MA-1 takes its cues from the classic military flight jacket, with a cropped bomber silhouette, full zip fastening and ribbed collar, cuffs and hem. Lambretta branding adds the finishing touch, while the black colourway means it’ll work with pretty much anything you throw underneath it.

This is one of those jackets that earns its keep. Polo shirt? Yep. T-shirt? Absolutely. Knitwear when Brighton suddenly remembers it’s October? Get it underneath.

How we’d wear it: Keep it sharp with a buttoned-up polo, straight-leg dark denim or trousers and a clean pair of trainers or loafers.

Scooter entirely optional. Looking sharp isn't.

Lambretta Twin Tipped Polo – Burgundy / Thunderstorm / Rustic Brown

There are polo shirts... and then there are proper polo shirts.

This Lambretta number sits very comfortably in the latter camp.

Made from 100% cotton, it features a classic three-button placket, regular fit and contrast twin tipping around the collar and sleeves, finished off with the Lambretta target logo neatly embroidered on the chest.

But it’s the colour combination that really caught our eye. Burgundy, Thunderstorm and Rustic Brown give this one a rich, slightly autumnal feel that’s a little different from the usual navy, black and white polos. Still unmistakably Lambretta, just with a bit more colour about it.

There’s plenty of detail, but nothing too shouty. Exactly how a good polo should be.

How we’d wear it: Dark denim or smart trousers, classic trainers and the black MA-1 bomber over the top when the temperature drops.

Smart enough for an evening out, casual enough for the pub. Which, conveniently, covers quite a lot of our social calendar.

Lambretta Championship Track Top – Navy / White

Time for something a little sportier.

The Championship Track Top brings that classic retro sportswear look into the mix, with a sharp Navy and White colour combination that feels equally at home with Mod, terrace and casual styling. It’s exactly the sort of piece you can chuck on for a weekend wander around town, a football afternoon or a trip to the pub that somehow becomes considerably longer than originally planned.

Track tops have long since escaped the running track, and frankly we’re pleased they did.

How we’d wear it: Keep everything else straightforward. A plain tee underneath, dark straight-leg jeans and classic trainers will do the job nicely.

No stopwatch required.

Lambretta Triple Tipped Polo – Winter Bloom / White / Navy / Cashew

Same great polo formula, completely different mood.

The Winter Bloom / White / Navy / Cashew colourway gives Lambretta’s triple-tipped polo a softer, slightly more understated look. You still get the 100% cotton construction, classic collar, three-button placket and contrast tipping, but the lighter palette makes it particularly easy to work into a smart-casual outfit.

It’s retro without being overly retro, smart without looking like you’re trying too hard and casual without looking like you’ve given up.

Basically, it understands the assignment.

How we’d wear it: Team it with navy trousers or dark denim, then add a Harrington or bomber when another perfectly predictable British weather forecast turns out to be completely wrong.

Lambretta Ladies Twin Tipped Polo – Ecru / Navy

And Lambretta isn't just for the blokes.

The Ladies Twin Tipped Polo in Ecru and Navy brings that familiar Lambretta styling into the women’s collection, with the clean contrast of navy against ecru giving it a classic, easy-to-wear finish. It’s also available alongside Black/Gold and Navy/White colourways in the current Lambretta range.

We’re particularly fond of the Ecru/Navy combination. It’s clean, understated and very easy to style without losing that unmistakable Mod influence.

How we’d wear it: Dark jeans or tailored trousers, trainers or loafers and a lightweight jacket. Keep the accessories simple and let the tipping do the talking.

Sharp, simple and proof that a good polo shirt knows no boundaries.

Lambretta: Still Looking Sharp

There’s a reason Lambretta works so well at Quadrophenia Alley.

The brand takes familiar elements of Mod, scooter and British casual culture and makes them wearable now. You don't need a vintage scooter parked outside the house, an encyclopaedic knowledge of obscure soul records or a wardrobe consisting entirely of parkas to get involved.

Although, obviously, none of those things hurt.

Whether you’re after a classic polo, a retro track top or a jacket you’ll keep reaching for, there’s plenty more to discover in our Lambretta collection.

Have a look through the full range at Quadrophenia Alley and find your favourite. Just don't blame us when one polo mysteriously turns into two.
